Starogre's News

***Done streaming for now. Check out my twitter to find out when the next time I stream is going to be. Until then, check out the archived videos thus far!

Hey I set up a livestream, going to be painting from a book I have just for practice with colors in photoshop in about 5 minutes. I want to start doing this often, so follow me on twitter for updates on when I will go live next. I am learning and you can learn too!!!!! (maybe!) And maybe someone can give me pointers as well.

Most of the stuff I do will be archived on there, and certain videos will be sped up and cut shorter and uploaded to youtube for some speed-paint videos later on as well. I'll link you to my youtube account when I start doing that. Thanks

Hope you n-joy

PS. I got a couple requests to do more stuff in Flash. I may later if I'm doing animation, but for now I'll probably stick to drawing in Photoshop until I build up my repertoire of live recordings.

This is the first level of the Flash version of Closure remade in the new and improved version, for those who haven't seen yet.

I'm going about doing most of the art in photoshop, rather than flash this time around. It's much faster. The animation I still do in flash because it's still a tad better than photoshop's animation editor for what I need.

Follow us on Facebook!

Here's a song.

Also, who's going to Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida at the end of March?!

Maybe I'm just pissed that the referee just cheated the USA out of a goal, but why is it his decision only whether or not an entire team of hard-workers wins or not?

Same goes for the monthly voting pool here on Newgrounds. 3 Nintendo parodies this month? A stick movie solely made of tweens? And a movie solely relying on a Bo Burnham song for it's only purpose (comedy?)?

Why are these people given the power to decide who gets the exposure and wins or loses? Why aren't tapes reviewed in soccer/football as they are in american football to get a better judgment made, and why isn't there more involved in selecting individuals to judge things?

I've been here for 6+ years and just because I don't blindly vote on submissions every day, someone else who doesn't do anything but vote on newgrounds submissions gets to make the decision in who succeeds on the website. The voting pool has been done the same way for years and nothing has changed with the monthly results - just like soccer referees making calls that can't be refuted.

Except the difference here is if someone makes a terrible judgment, they aren't fired from their position

I would have picked more from the list but thank god this made it as the TWENTIETH RUNNER UP. This should have gotten a monthly but sadly the rest of the entire monthly list of movies was bullshit (look at it again and laugh hysterically). Actually this one is awesome too. 19th place.....seriously....

PS. I'm not going back to school this year (technically i'm still a student on an internship) so I'm finding a new place to live to work on Closure fulltime with Glaiel-Gamer. craigslist is a pain

Also my dog ate my solid gold rubber duck and because i invested all my money into it i have none to give to the doctor for the surgery so give me tons of cash in the mail

Tom came down to talk at CoolDrMoney 's and my school for small a video game conference. Thanks Tom! Nogfish and I also got the Baltimore Meet to work off of that later in the day which turned out to be pretty darn neat! JordanD came down from Canada to stay at HoodedPirate 's and my place for the weekend.

You should check out HoodedPirate's Recap and MrScriblam's Recap of the meetup at the inner harbor, while you wait for mine.

I may post more details about the Baltimore meet next week when more pictures emerge. But for now, here's a line animation I made on paper synced to a given soundtrack. I've been meaning to most it for a little while now. Enjoy. (Details are on the vimeo page.)

Luis made a sweet meet-up page on his website too. From the looks of it, there are some awesome people coming, so check it out!

Nogfish and I will be available on Friday night beforehand, if you are in early. So if you wanna hang out or something let us know.

I made this for my Intro to Animation Class. Took about 20 hours including breaktimes.

The challenge was to sync a paper line animation to a given [weird] soundtrack. The soundtrack was all one sound so we couldn't just add in the sounds when we were done - we had to sync the animation to the sound.

Have to do an abstract one next to a different soundtrack so I'll post that when I'm done! (If I don't hate it)
